Great results for Invercargill Kendo Club team and grading candidate on 30th and 31st March.
IKC team members, Shane Robinson, Hayden McClymont and Grant Wilkin had great performance at team competition against, Otago Kendo Club and Canterbury Kendo Club. We have won two and lost one.
On 31st March Grant Wilkin have achieved Sho Dan. Congratulations Grant.

Hopefully you are all having a great summer time. It is a time to enroll Invercargill Kendo Club membership 2019. If you are not sure you join in IKC, have a go Kendo during January training Monday 6:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-11:00am. It doesn’t any cost for free trial. This year we will resume training on 19th January, Saturday.
Fun Sword fighting is coming back in February.
This is not Martial art Kendo but it is just for fun game for all people.
People are using a form swords and hit and thrust for getting points. It is simple and very fun. If you are interested in this activity, please contact with us. All Invercargill Kendo Club members are free. However gold coin donation may be required for public people.
Fun swords fighting normally run on Saturday 10:00am-10:30am.

Invercargill Kendo Club presents sports sword game for all people on this Saturday 15th December at Southland Girls’ High School Old Gym from 10:00am to 10:30am. (Old gym is located by Rugby park. You go through the gate by dairy shop.)
Sports sword game is call sports chanbara which is started in Japan and many people enjoy this activity all over the world. This activity is really fun to use all technique and your creative movements by air pump swords. It is the Winner who gets a point from hitting and thrusting opponents body. As a safety we require you to put head mask (Men). Have a go and enjoy this.
I am pleased to announce Hirotsugu Ganaha(father) gained 4Kyu and Leo Ganaha(son) gained 1kyu tonight.
Leo is only 9 years old kendo player. But both Tsugu and Leo have shown awesome grading performance.
I am pleased to announce Bruce Middleton gained 5Dan and Hayden McClymont gained 3 Dan on 22nd October in Christchurch. Invercargill Kendo Club members also win 3rd place in Kata (Shane Robinson and Hayden McClymont). And Veteran tournament 2nd place is Bruce Middleon.
